If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

This site uses Google Analytics measurement software to collect the information. The data is automatically sent to Google’s system and the system immediately aggregates the data. Neither Renew NC nor Google ever have access to the specifics of your particular site visits. We can only see the aggregate data from all users for a particular time period.

This information is used to improve our website. We may use the aggregated data to share with our partners and contractors to help improve visitor experiences.

If you send us personal information via email or by filling out a form on the website, we may use that information in responding to your request. Send only the information that is necessary for us to answer your question or process your request. We may forward your email to who can best answer your questions. We do not disclose, give, sell or transfer any personal information about our visitors, unless required for law enforcement or statute. The email is subject to the North Carolina Public Records Law.

How long we retain your data

For users who sign up on our website we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you submit information you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. This request can be submitted through an email to our program at [email protected]

Where we send your data

Visitor data may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Any data submitted on outside websites are subject to their privacy policy.

This program is under the privacy policy of NC.gov. This maintains a privacy statement that addresses the collection, use, disclosure, and security of information that may be obtained when you visit North Carolina government websites. For more information visit: https://www.nc.gov/privacy
